Alberta Marriage Commissioner

Mary Zakordonski
Alberta Marriage Commissioner - St. Albert

About Me:

I am an Alberta marriage commissioner authorized by Ministerial Appointment, based in St. Albert.

My goal is to give you the meaningful ceremony that you want and that meets all the legal requirements of the Province. The summers of 2015, 2016 and 2017 found me officiating in various locations mainly in St. Albert and area.  I was fortunate to officiate at so many beautiful wedding ceremonies and fortunate to meet so many unique couples.  I am grateful for the opportunity to help all couples plan their perfect wedding ceremony.

As a Chartered Professional Accountant, I have enjoyed my experience in customer service, public speaking (groups of all sizes), mentoring, training, organizing and working with people of different ethnicity, religions and sexual orientations.

In preparation for my role as an Alberta Marriage Commissioner, I took the Certified Wedding Consultant and Coordinator program offered by the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada (WPIC). The program covered such topics as: Multicultural weddings, same-sex marriages, wedding etiquette and attire.

In 2017, my spouse and I celebrated our 30th anniversary and we love our weekly “famjam” dinners when the “kids” come home.  Being surrounded by loving family and friends is awesome.

I was born and raised in Quebec, surrounded by a loving family. I feel blessed to this day and I am so thankful for my supportive family. Early in my career, I was fortunate to work for 6 years in a bilingual (French/English) college environment.  If you want a ceremony incorporating more than one language, let’s discuss this. We will work together to meet your needs.
